Roderick Woody is a seasoned workforce development professional with more than 20 years of experience supporting job seekers, employers, community organizations, and training providers as they navigate the public workforce system. A native of Grand Junction, Tennessee, he now resides in Shelby County. He holds a bachelor’s degree in business from Lane College and an MBA from the University of Phoenix.

Roderick began his career as a Case Manager with the City of Memphis Second Chance Program before transitioning to the American Job Centers, where he spent 12 years in progressively responsible roles — from Case Manager to Operations Manager. In 2024, he joined the Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development as the West Tennessee Apprenticeship Director and now serves as the West TN Lead Business and Workforce Director for TNWorks. In this role, he continues his longstanding commitment to expanding opportunities and strengthening the regional workforce.
